Is there a way I can convert a Word Perfect file to a Microsoft Word file to use in Microsoft Word online?

I have a chromebook, so I'm not able to download the office software. But I am able to use the online version of Word. However, my "boss" still uses Word Perfect. I am able to use the files that he wants me to edit on my office pc (which has MS Office), but I'm not able to work in the office this week and I thought I could edit the wpd file from my current location (I'm visiting my son and his family) with my "chromebook". But I can't even upload the file into One Note. I know the pc version of Microsoft Word is able to convert Wpd files to doc or docx files, so I was hoping I could open it and save it as a word doc online, but not able to. Someone PLEASE HELP!

There are several online services that will convert a WordPerfect document to a Word document and email the result to you. This web search will list them: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=convert+wordperfect+to+word+online (although they're interspersed with lots of articles about how to do the conversion in Word itself, which you can't use). The leading contender seems to be https://www.zamzar.com/convert/wpd-to-doc/, but I haven't used it and can't say how good the results are.

Because the internal workings of Word and WordPerfect are very different, there can be problems with the formatting of converted documents. If it's badly done, you may have to remove all formatting and apply all new styles paragraph by paragraph.
