Quick access as default when saving a Word document

When I press F12 in order to save the current document in Microsoft Word 2016, in the left part of the window I see the list of places, Quick access, Dropbox, OneDrive, This PC and Network. The cursor is always positioned on This PC.

I would like the cursor to be positioned on the Quick access, so that I would not have to scroll the list each time (actually I press Shift Tab, Shift Tab, Shift Tab, Home, but it takes some time...)

Is it possible to set this default somehow?

For an unsaved document, pressing F12 will display to the Documents folder; to learn the exact path, look in the File Locations dialog box (File | Options | Advanced | File Locations). You can change the Documents folder in that dialog box.

For a saved document, F12 will always use the same path as that of the current document.

    Hi Dejan,

Quick access can be found in the File Explorer which substitutes the Favorites feature that was in the previous versions of Windows. This refers to the files and folders that you usually visit.

In line with your concern, you can only use the folders under Quick access as the default folder when saving a Word document and not the feature itself. To do this, see this article: Set a default working folder and go through the section for Word.
