Stuck in a Sign In loop to activate office on a Mac & Never asked for a password.

Hi,

I have a college Office account that I'm trying to activate on a Mac but when I enter my college email to activate the license and press "Next" I'm brought back to Sign in. I never get asked for my password it seems to be stuck in a loop. This only seems to happen on the Mac as I was able to login and activate Office with the college email on a Windows device. 

I was able to log in successfully with a non college account.

I've reinstalled Office twice and even reset the computer back to factory settings and it's still happening.

Hi Eva18O,

You could first try the following steps:

Make sure there is no account signed into Office apps. If there is account already signed in, sign out the existing account, quit Office apps, access Keychain Access application, remove Microsoft Office Identities Cache 2 | Microsoft Office Identities Settings 2 and any ADAL entries that are listed within the "Name" or "Kind" columns, restart your Mac, reopen one of the Office apps, check if you are able to activate it. Note: search for 'microsoft' and 'adal' within the keychain application and delete all returned results.

If it doesn't work, try creating a new Mac account, sign into Mac with the new account, check if you are able to activate Office suite.

    Hi Eva18O,

    To better understand the situation, I'd like to first confirm the following things:

    1. Where do you download the Office suite installer, from portal with your school account or other download source?
    2. Is this your personal Mac at home or a Mac in your school environment?
    3. Your work/school account email address. For privacy protection, I have sent you a private message to collect it.
