New Fonts?

Anonymous

I am suddenly asked repeatedly to download (now three) new fonts. They are: STHeiti, STFangsong, and STKaiti? Are these legitimate downloads?!? I am offered the option of "skip" and have done so, but they pop up again when I attempt to open a word doc.

Thanks for any suggestions.

They are legit Fonts. I believe they are actually needed for 2016 and above can work correctly.

    Hi RonRHeard,

There is a thread discussing this that other Mac users had it happen to as well.

    Hopefully, it helps.

There is, however, no good reason why Microsoft should require users to install fonts that they don't use.

    Hi DH65,

Based on my research, there were similar issues happening on High Sierra and Office 2011 for Mac. Can you help us confirm the information below:

    1. Please go to Mac > About Mac and provide us the OS version.
    2. Please go to Excel > About Excel and provide us the screenshot about the version information.

In the meantime, you can try the steps below and see the result:

    1. Install the font to see whether the repeated notification persists.
    2. If the notification disappears after installing the fonts, try to remove the fonts from the Font Book and see whether the notification will come back again.

    Thanks,

    Rena
