Hi all

I want to rotate whole page in ms word with all text in it.

From this

to like this

I mean from landscape page to portrait page with all text on it.

The problem:

When i am doing orientation from landscape to portrait in "Page Setup" the page changes to portrait but the text remains horizontal. I want text to become vertical also.

How to do it? Please help...

    Hi vikramsp

The only way to do that and at the same time rotate the text contained on that page would be to put that text in a text box on that page . . .

You can then rotate the text 90 degrees counter clock-wise (Press Shift while rotating) then change that page's orientation

There is no difference between your two screen shots. The landscape page is shown with the text horizontal so that you can edit it, but it will print just the way your second screen shot shows. For the page number, see https://wordmvp.com/FAQs/Formatting/LandscapeSection.htm or Doug's reply above.

Do you need to still be able to edit the text?

Note if you rotate the landscape pages after printing the document, the orientation will be correct, except for the page number.  If however you insert the page number into the header of the landscape oriented pages in a text box so that you can rotate the text, it will then appear in the correct orientation at the bottom left of the page when the printed page is rotated.

First, do not use a text box for your text on the page you want to print sideways.

Look at what Doug and Suzanne have told you.

To clarify a bit, the landscape page will display as shown in your first picture but will print (except the page number) like your second. Since it is a separate section, you can manage the page number separately. See How to put a portrait page number on a landscape page by Bill Coan, Suzanne Barnhill, and Dave Rado MVPs. Here is a sample document demonstrating this method: Portrait Headers and Footers in Landscape Section Demonstration. I updated this in December 2020 to include the possibility of using Frames instead of Textboxes.

Alternatively, if you want your document on your Word screen to look like your second picture, you would not change to landscape but rather leave your text in portrait mode. Set your table to look like your landscape page tipped on its side and rotate the text in the table.

Revisiting this issue, it is possible to put a table inside a textbox that it is too small to hold it. Then have another textbox on the following page to hold the overflow by linking the textboxes. This is not easy and it is a pain to edit. Here is a temporary link to a demonstration document.
