Does my Windows 10 notebook meet the requirements for Microsoft Office 2019?

Hi

I am interested in purchasing the Microsoft Office 2019 package (once-off) which only includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The requirements (as per screenshot) indicates that:

  • 4 GB, 2 GB (32- bit) RAM

is required. Does this mean a total of 6GB of RAM is required?

Also, this package requires a 1.6GHz, dual-core processor but not sure if this matches the properties of my Windows 10 notebook as it states that it has a 1.44GHz processor.

I have attached screenshots of the package I need to purchase and the properties of my Windows 10.

Office 365 2018 was previously installed but the subscription has expired and I now want a once-off package.

Please advice if this package can be downloaded on my notebook. I have a Mecer Z140C Notebook.

Thanks!

    Hi,

I am sorry. No, you would not be able to have it work well. Your processor is too slow. Also the 2 Gb of RAM is really small. You may be able to increase the RAM for not too much cost. I expect that it would be slow running, though.

    Hi TM238

The first thing I notice is you have Windows 10 Pro 64bit installed on a system with 2GB of RAM, that must run extremely slow . ..

Your system would not be able to load Office into Windows 64bit, it would probably crash or at the very least be running from your hard drive pagefile, rather than from rAM . . .

Your best option would be to install the 32bit version of Windows 10 and also the 32bit version of Office 2019

That way you should get satisfactory performance from Windows and Office 2019

Thanks for your help! How can I increase my RAM? Also, how did Office 365 previously work with the limited space on my device?

Hi TM238, please note to go to the 32bit version of Windows will require you to backup your data and clean install Windows 10

You can reinstall Windows 10 at any time and it will not cost you anything !

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS) to begin installing Windows 10

Since you previously had Windows 10 installed and activated on that PC during the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC', and activation will not be an issue, your PC will have a digital entitlement stored on the Microsoft Activation Servers

If you have problems booting from a boot disc, you may have UEFI BIOS:

Insert the Bootable Installation Media, then go into your BIOS and make the following changes:

    1. Disable Secure Boot
    2. Enable Legacy Boot
    3. If Available enable CSM
    4. If Required enable USB Boot
    5. Move the device with the bootable disc to the top of the boot order
    6. Save BIOS changes, restart your System and it should boot from the Installation Media
