    Hi,

Insert > Symbol > More Symbols

They are Unicode symbols 2020 and 2021.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.

    Regards

If you want these superscripted, you may want to create them and save them as formatted AutoCorrect entries.

    Hi jrowla

Dagger and double dagger are in the default symbol set in Word

On the Insert Ribbon, click Symbol - More Symbols

Scroll down and you will find those symbols as shown below:

Thank you Suzanne. If I start to use them heavily I will do that.

Note that if you want to use these symbols for footnotes, there is a "Number format" setting in the Footnote and Endnote dialog that allows you to select the "*, †, ‡, §" sequence for footnote reference marks. After §, they repeat as **, ††, etc.

To access this dialog, on the References tab, in the Footnotes group, click the dialog launcher (the small curved arrow in the bottom right corner).

By default they will be superscript, which I generally don't prefer, but you can remove the Superscript property from the Footnote Reference character style.
