printing "comments" at end of excel worksheet

Dear Community,

Recently with my office 365 i am unable to print comments from cells at the end of the document on my MAC as in the past. The only way is to have the comments appear on the document itself which is worthless because it then overlaps on the data in the cell. I have done all the usual settings to "print at end" etc and no success.

Any solutions out there?

thank you

Steve

Straight to the point, Stephen : The feature doesn't work. I've confirmed that in both the 16.18 & 16.19 versions. It seems that once you decipher their replies that the MSFT Agents have verified this as well.

Once you wade through all the hype in the KBs it boils down to the fact that the original Comments feature broke when Excel 2016 was released. Because it was base on an antiquated foundation not much was done to fix it & it now has been renamed as Notes - apparently to be left in its current state.

Rather than fixing the old mechanism the new Comments feature has been added, but it still is under development. The ability to print the Comments [& Notes] at the end evidently has not as yet been put into effect. My further guess is that Notes & Comments are tied together in that respect, so you won't get one until you get the other.

Unfortunately, it would seem that we're in a "wait & see" mode, but in the meanwhile please use the button labeled Comments [used to be ☺︎] at the right end of the Ribbon to report the issue to the development team... nobody here can do anything about it. You might also vote for or submit a feature request/suggestion/complaint at Excel for Mac

    Hi Stephen,

    Thank you for your updates.

I have tested it with Excel(16.19) and steps below:

    1. I inserted a note in a cell, then I went to File > Page Setup > Sheet > In the Comments box, click At end of sheet > print and no comment shown here.
    2. When I went to File > Page Setup > Sheet > In the Comments box, click As displayed on sheet (legacy) > print and no comment shown.
    3. When I went to Review > Notes > Show All Notes > Page Setup > Sheet > In the Comments box, click As displayed on sheet (legacy) and comment is displayed.
    4. When I went to Review > Notes > Show All Notes > Page Setup > Sheet > In the Comments box, click At end of sheet and no comment shown.

Is the above operation the same as yours?
