I need help uninstalling a pre-loaded version of Office onto PCs

So we had a third party company install some new PC's at our location and they did a lousy job removing all of the pre-loaded Office app versions. We purchased Office 2019 when we purchased the PC's. I have two icons for like Access, Word, and PowerPoint and I cannot remove them no matter how many times I try uninstalling them, even when I click them the one does nothing and just sits there. The reason I know their is an issue too besides the two icons for those applications, is when I click on the "correct" icon it says it's opening up Office365, but when I click to see what version I'm running once in the application, it says that I'm running Office 2019 (which is what we want).  I'm not the most technically savvy person so I can't post pictures and we don't have a sound IT person in office to help us. So basic, easy instructions are appreciated! Hopefully I've done a decent job explaining this. If not, let me know and I will follow up.

Thanks,

I went ahead an reinstalled Office 2019 to illustrate the Office 365 "intro" and Office 2019 Account info once in the application.

The reason I am showing this is because some users PC's when opening Word, PowerPoint etc...they show in the "intro" of the application as being Office 2019. Whereas mine (and a few others), show Office 365. It just seems impossible to remove all of Office 365 from the PC.

    Hello,

Thank you for your attempt to help. So I tried that link with directions and tried it. It did remove all of Office 2019, but those three apps that don't work or open anything or will not uninstall are still there. Here is a screenshot to show you that they still exist. The "blank ones" are the ones that I would use to open each application and they would work. The others that still look active do nothing and will not uninstall or go away.

As far as deleting Microsoft Store Office Apps, I do that, but every time I restart my computer, they always seem to come back as an option to uninstall again. Even why I try to remove everything that is Office on my PC, these 3 apps stay and that Windows Store Office Apps will come back after a restart. Here is a screenshot after I deleted it in Apps & Features.

I wanted to show you a picture of the Control Panel as well as I think you wanted to see a screenshot of that.

I should have taken a picture of the actual office programs before I uninstalled them to show you what I mean by the logo always showing Office 365 when I open it, but then when I go into Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc... in the Account section, it will show Office 2019 and not Office 365. I understand this is not a big deal since they do work, I just have others asking me if we have Office 365 or Office 2019 and they get confused when they see the Office 365.

Hopefully these pictures help illustrate some of what I am dealing with and maybe this will help yield a solution. I just don't want to have to reformat the PC and have to start all over from factory settings because I don't want to go through the bother. If that's my only option after this then I will just live with it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi JWJATA,

Based on your description, we suggest you check the following:

    1. If the Office shortcuts remains after Office uninstall, we suggest you follow the steps provided in this article.
    2. If you are using Window 10 and if the pre-loaded Office is downloaded from Microsoft Store Apps, it doesn’t appear in Control Panel, you need to check by going to Settings> Apps> Apps & Features> Check for Microsoft Desktop Store Apps> Click on it> Uninstall.

After performing the actions mentioned in above and if still have two icons. provide the following to move further:

    1. As you mentioned there are two icon and one of them doesn’t respond, check whether how many Office products are there in Control Panel.

For doing: Type Control Panel in search> Program and Features> Check the names. And please provide screenshot of it.

    1. Provide screenshot how icons display when you enter application name in search.
    2. From where you downloaded the pre-loaded version of Office and Office subscription name?
    3. As you mentioned “when I click on the "correct" icon it says it's opening up Office365”, please provide screenshot under the Product Information.

    Open Word> File> Account> Product Information.

Note: For taking screenshot in Windows, you can use Snipping Tool, or you can click Windows + Shift + S> Rectangular Clip. After taking screenshot save it to locally.

For inserting screenshot in Forum: Click on reply> Select Insert Image on Editor Toolbar> Browse> Select screenshot> Open> Upload.

    Thanks,

    Chitrahaas
