Since I first downloaded Office for Home and Student 2016 the word document opens with a bottom border selected.  It does not show up when I print the a document, only when I print a label.  How did I get rid of this? Tried to download a screen shot to include but can't.

I see the problem, and it's with Avery. Their Word template includes borders that print. I have no idea why they might think this is helpful, because it's not.

Instead, please follow these steps:

  1. Choose Tools>Labels...
  2. Click on the Options button.
  3. Change the Label products dropdown to Avery US Letter.
  4. Scroll a little more than halfway down to 5260 Address Labels. Select it and click on OK, and then on OK. A new document with a table of labels is created, this time without printing borders.

The Avery file had the text set centered between the top and bottom, while your new file has the text set at the top of the label. This may change your formatting a little, but at least you won't have borders.

Your screen shot shows a small portion of the Word Ribbon, not a border below a label. If you still need help, please post a screen shot of the bottom border of the label.

Since the line doesn't print, you may be seeing a text or table border. You can change the visibility of non-printing items using the Word>Preferences>View dialog.

Copy/Paste of images doesn't work in these messages.

Once you save a screen shot locally (preferably as a .jpg or .png) you can upload it using the Insert Image tool provided on the toolbar of the message window:

    Hi Tam2253,

Please refer to the suggestions in the article below to see if it helps with your situation: Why aren't page borders printing?

If you the issue persists, we would like to collect the following information:
