I purchased Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 for download in 2017.  Yesterday I had to reset my Win10 PC, which means my PC now has its trial Office 365, which I do not want.

I have my Office 16 product key and Microsoft login.  In  a perfect world, I go to my Microsoft account, enter my product key, click an option to re-install on a reset computer, and it both uninstalls the trial Office 365 and re-installs my Office 16.

BUT NONE of the online instructions seems to cover this situation, and I am stopped at step 1.  For instance many online suggestions seem to think when I log into my Microsoft online account there will be an "Install" button.  There is not.

My Services and Subscriptions page does not list Office 2016.

My account recognizes my product key, but it complains I've "already used" my product key and gives no options to reload it on a restarted machine.

At that complaint, there is an "install from my account" that takes me back to My Services and Subscriptions page, which does not list Office 2016.

Does anyone know the steps to re-install Office 2016 after a computer reset?

Thank you all. I discovered that I only had to sign into my account and didn't need the key (although I have it).

    All is working now.

Step 1 - Sign in to download Office

Go to http://www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in.

Sign in with the account you associated with this version of Office. This account can be a Microsoft account, or work or school account.

Forgot your account details? See I forgot the account I use with Office.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/i-forg...

On the Office home page, do the following depending on your version of Office.

If you signed in with a Microsoft account, from the Office home page select Install Office > Install. (Office 365 subscribers should select Install again).

This begins the download of Office. Follow the prompts on your screen to complete the install.

    Hi

You won't need a product key, you need to deactivate your previous Installation and then re-install Office 2016.

On the new computer, go to https://office.com/myaccount and sign in using your Microsoft account, if prompted

    Select Install

Under Install information, locate the old installation

Select Deactivate Install to deactivate the Office installation

Then, click Install to install reinstall Office

Transfer / Stuff you can Do in MyAccount: Install / Deactivate / Offline Installer / Downgrade

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/wi...

log in to the MyAccount site http://office.com/myaccount

This page shows how to install Office AFTER the license has been activated. It also shows a few other things you can do in the MyAccount site.

Some of the answers can also be found in this FAQ, including how to “Share” your 365 Home subscription:

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.

    Regards
