  1. There is a horizontal line in a resume template that I would like to move or delete. The line can't be selected and it's not a border line or a header line. I've tried many different things and had no luck getting rid of it. Please help!

I had the same problem on PC but I finally fixed it! It wasn't a border, I tried all the basic and advanced tricks I knew and then went online. Nothing.

Then I went to the header and clicked "remove header." And it was gone! Despite the fact that it didn't in the slightest look like it could be in the header. The header margin was narrow and the line was waaaay below it. But this worked for me--I hope it helps you!

I believe you are describing a shape or image anchored to a paragraph in the header. Getting rid of header content would also get rid of the shape/image.

Thank you for your response but I've already read that article. It's not a border or AutoFormat line. Do you have any other suggestions?

Most likely, the line is a border, possibly a table cell border. Tables are frequently used to create a mutliple-column layout in resume templates. The second most likely is a border created by the AutoFormat As You Type feature.

The article http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/TroublesomeLines.htm covers all the kinds of horizontal lines that can be created in a Word document, and I expect you'll find what you need there.

Does the horizontal line also print? or is it only on the screen?
