    Hi Allen,

Word files not opening in the Word mobile application could be due to data in the application getting corrupted or compatibility issues. To assist in resolving your concern, kindly answer the questions below:

    • What is the current Microsoft Word application version on your device? To check, go to Menu ? > AboutVersion.
    • Does the issue only occur with a specific Work document or any Word documents in OneDrive does not open?
    • Have you tried to open a Word document stored locally on your device and check if the same issue occurs?
    • Were there any error messages that showed up when you attempted to open the Word documents?
    • What other troubleshooting steps have you completed aside from the ones you mentioned?
    • Were there any changes made or updates installed prior to the issue occurring?

To notify us and have us get back to you, simply reply to this post.

Thanks for the update. Since you mentioned is only happening with a specific folder and when accessing OneDrive through the desktop application there are no errors, we recommend that you move the contents of the folder that is not opening to a newly created folder and then attempt to open the files on the Microsoft Word application on your iPad. Also, try to reinstall the Microsoft Word application on your iPad once more before you attempt the troubleshooting steps.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.
