Hello, How do I edit my PowerPoint and Word documents offline? I am getting a nagging issue with Office keeps telling me to sign-in to validate my license while I'm in a place that has no internet. I'm using Office 2016.

Online account validation and online document editing are 2 separate issues. If you are running the purchased version of Office and it's been activated, you can simply sign out of OneDrive and save files to your hard drive instead. If you are subscribing to Office 365, you can do that for a month, then you need to re-connect to maintain activation. Then you can disconnect again.

If you spend large amounts of time not connected or in remote areas, Office 365 is not the best choice. You should uninstall it and get a purchased version of Office.

    Hi John,

I'm using Microsoft Office Proffessional Plus 2016.

The strange thing is I just connected to work the day before. Last night it complained and ask me to sign-in to validate license when I tried to open an older document, probably created with older version of Office while the file that I worked on the day before still let me edit and save.

    Thanks

    /Tim

    Hi Tim

Open a blank document in Microsoft Word

    Go to File - Account

What licence(s) of Office are listed there?
