Opening OFX files in Excel

I have been trying to use excel to analyse some bank statements.  I can download the data in OFX or QIF formats.  I did find some useful advice on how to open ofx files in excel here (https://windowsreport.com/open-ofx-files-windows-10/) however despite using windows 10 and office 365 I do not get the instructions to work for me.  Instead of getting the option to open as an xml table it only recognises the file as a text file, and bring sup the usual dialog box when working with csv files.

Can anyone help me to get into the file in excel?

I have the same problem, and would appreciate a solution if you have one.

    Thanks

After searching the user interface for "hidden" switches of my bank account I found download as excel file.

    So my problem was solved.

However, before that I googled for solutions to convert OFX files to excel files.

There is a program about $ 30 converting OFX files.

I could not import OFX files in Excel 2016 with the tips given above.

    Hi Rachel,

Glad to hear that you can download your file as Excel workbook. Thanks for your sharing. That will help others who meet the same scenario. You are welcome to post new threads to get help when need.

    Regards,

    Hi Rachel,

I meet the same result as you: the CSV file import page. And I can find contents within the ofx file.

Can you access your contents at last? If so, you can keep using that way to open your ofx files. If you can't, it is recommended to convert your ofx files into PDF for reading. You can have a try and share with meyour test result.

    Regards,

    Neo
