I suddenly am receiving the following message.

OfficeC2RClient.exe - System error

The code execution cannot proceed because ApiClient.dll was not found. reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

How do I reinstall Word and Excel and (any other effected programs)?

    Hi Paul

    1.

Follow these steps to perform a full repair of your Office installation . . .

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

    At the top, click 'Change'

On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .

If the above does not resolve this for you:

Use this tool from Microsoft to remove all remnants of a previous Office Installaiton:

    Restart your PC

Go to http://www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in

On the Office home page, select Install Office - Install

I could not get the change wizard.

I did manage to download a program to uninstall office then reinstalled Office and so far it seems to running OK with the new Cloud and Edge or IE capabilities.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Hi Paul

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

    Scroll down to Microsoft Office

    Select it

    Click Change

Now, wait while the repair wizard starts up.

Choose the type of repair you would like to perform. Depending on the severity or availability of your Internet connection, you could try the first option, Quick Repair, which is much faster and tries to fix the problem without a data connection.

If that doesn’t resolve the problem, then go back and try the Online Repair option. For my particular issue, I ultimately had to use the Online Repair.

The repair process is straight-forward following the wizard. Note that you’ll need to save your work and close all Office programs first, and then click Repair.

Then wait while the repair process runs.

You will notice the repair experience is similar to a fresh installation. The amount of time it takes will depend on your connection speed and what the issue is.

You will see your Office apps light up in their respective colors while the repair completes.

Once the installation is complete, restart your computer just to be sure and launch your apps and verify if the problem you were having is resolved.

    Press Windows key + R

Type each of the following commands then hit Enter to open the respective application.

    winword

    excel

    powerpnt

    msaccess

    outlook

    mspub

    Hi Paul,

I would start with an Online Repair instead, as this tends to fix most installation problems with Office.

    To do this -

From the Start Menu, type Control Panel.

    Click Control Panel.

Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

Click Microsoft Office 365 > Change

Follow the prompts and select "Repair"

You may have a choice between Quick Repair and Online Repair, if so, choose Online. Let me know how you get on.

    Kind Regards,

    Ryan
