Running Microsoft Office 2016 in Microsoft Windows 10 Home (Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763).

When I click to start Microsoft Word 2016, I get the following error:

I get the same error code (0xc0000142) when trying to start Microsoft Excel 2016 (I haven't tried the other Microsoft Office 2016 programs).

What's happening and how can I get my Microsoft Office 2016 programs to work?

POSTED IN EXCEL ALSO.

    Hello!

This is an Independent Advisor to help you.!

I suggest to you disable the office add-ins that sometimes have this effects:

Try to open Excel in safe mode, to make it, you need open Run and write Excel /safe, and click OK.

Disable the add-ins: you need to go to file > options > add-ins select COM and uncheck the first add-in checked.

After it, close Excel and try to opening again the Excel.

If the issue still, I'll recommend to you to performance an Office repair.

To Office repair you can follow the steps below.

Go to Control Panel and open Programs and Features, select the Office and click on Change.

You will can see 2 way to repair.

As first way is performer a quick repair because it will take less time.

If the problem still, you need performer an Online Repair, it will take more time than quick repair.

Please let me know if the problem continue.

    Regards.

What I ever did to correct the problem resulted in my losing my validation of Office. Since I got it thru my college, where I was an instructor before retiring, I find out I'm no longer allowed to continue using it. Thanks to everyone for trying to help me.
