How can I get the durable link ID/URL into a column?

We are trying to send file information to Salesforce as part of a records documentation project we're running. We have everything connected, but are having a very difficult time pulling in a document's durable link URL or ID. This is the best way to make sure the info we have in Salesforce always links to the correct file, even if our users get folder happy and start reorganizing everything.

We can get the server relative URL, the absolute encoded URL, the URL with simple document ID, etc. But it has proven impossible for us to get the new, modernized durable link you can find in a file's flyout from the ...More menu (see highlighted ID below).

We're willing to accept the URL or the ID and we can build a URL from that. But so far none of the fields available to me in site columns allow me to access it in a library view, and I can't write the ID value to a text field from a SharePoint Designer workflow because the field isn't available there. The best I've gotten is finding a crawled property that I *believe* is what I'm looking for, called "ows_LinkingURL," but I haven't been able to pull that into a library to confirm what it is, nor can I call out to it in a workflow or Flow.

Any help on this?

No, I do not want a link that contains the ID in the Document ID field. What I want is to find the link that is in the preview window and be able to pull that URL or that ID programmatically into a workflow, Flow, or somehow pull it into a column. That URL is called a "durable link," and I can't find anything online (besides "Linking URL") that tells me where I can find that metadata in SharePoint so I can pull in programmatically. This is the only location on a file that I can find this URL.

In case it helps, this is what I want to do: capture the Durable Link URL -or- ID and put it into a library column (see below for my set up).

What I'm finding is that the ID in the Durable Link does not equal the ID in the Document ID field, though every resource I see online says it should.

Yes I got your reply, but it wasn't responding to the issue I'm having. I have no trouble accessing this link via the library or ribbon (you can see in my screenshot that I know how to access it) -- where I have an issue is accessing this URL or ID via SharePoint Designer, Flow, or adding it a library column so I can pull it in to a workflow programmatically.

Both in SPD and Flow, there are a number of other URLs and IDs available, but none of them point to this new, very specific "durable link" URL or ID. Do you happen to know if these are accessible via workflows or Flows?

    Hi Amy,

Here is my understanding of your scenario: you want to get an unchangeable URL of your file. If so, I'd like to suggest you follow the steps below to get an unchangeable URL of your file:

    1. Move to your file library.
    2. Select your file>click Library>Email a link.

And you can get an unchangeable URL of your file on your email client.

If it is not your scenario, please share with me more info to let me have a clear understanding of it.

    Regards,

    Neo
