Access database permissions

I have an old access database with mdb extension which I recently found on an old backup.

The problem is, I set permissions on it when i created it in 2010 and now i get "You do not have permission to use" the database because we no longer have the server it resided on, only a backup of the database .

Is there a way to at least extract the records or export them to Excel. I'm not concerned about the menus, queries etc. I only need the data in the tables.

Any help is welcomed

You'd have to remove User Level Security on the database. That can be tough to do if you don't have the original .mdw (Access Workgroup file) that you used to secure it.

There are some services that can remove security for you, like www.everythingaccess.com. You'd have to prove that you own the database, of course, and there is a fee involved, but Wayne could definitely do this for you.

There are also some utilities that claim to be able to remove security. I'm not sure how effective they are, so really couldn't tell you which of those would work.

Only other suggestion would be to try to import from that file, but if you're getting the permission error you probably won't be able to do that either.
