There was a thread about this in early 2017. The problem was to have been solved with version update 1701, I believe. Was it? As I having seeing the same problems with version 18.1903.1152.0 installed.

    Hi GP_1650,

After some more test, we found that if the field in Legend(Series) area is not number the issue will happen. In the sample wordbook you shared with me, the Key Figures is in Legend(Series) area. The Key Figures is column that has text as the value.

Sorry for all the trouble and thanks for your patience.

We will report this behavior and involve more resource for the issue. Will keep you updated.

    Regards,

    Alex

I change my chart using the chart field buttons.

    here's the custom format

When I drop down on the Primary Resource and select another resource, I sometimes lose the custom format and all lines become clustered columns. The Beginning Inventory Amount which was a line in image 1 becomes a column in image 2.

Chart with custom format shown below.

When another value is selected from the Primary Resource drop-down; custom format is lost. All key figures which had been chart type "Line with Markers" are changed to chart type "Clustered Columns".

    Hi GP_1650,

Sorry for the inconvenience it has caused and thanks for bring this to our attention.

I can confirm  that when making changes to Pivot Charts Fields, the Pivot Charts will jump back to default format. We still need some time to investigate and confirm some information. Will keep you updated.

Are there some other circumstance that will make it change to revert back to default chart format? Can you share the thread link with us?

    Regards,

    Alex
