Mendeley plug in

Hello,

I've (again) an issue with the Mendeley Plug in.

I can't edit citations on my thesis, due to the following error: "Citation/Bibliography is wrongly placed in index area, please delete the placed citation/bibliography in index area".

I've not tried to uninstall and reinstall the Mendeley plugin yet, since I'm afraid of loosing the citations I've already inserted. How can I solve my problem?

    Thank you all.

The Mendeley Support Center told me that this wasn't a plug in issue.

In the end I managed to solve my problem:

Although I did look for the presence of "XE" (index entries), like mentioned in one of linked suggestions, I wrongly assumed that they would show by pressing alt+F9 (like all the code and text behind each citation). Instead they only show if the option of showing special characters is on (i.e. the end-of-line).

I must have inadvertently created them while attempting the creation of the summary (very similar, but different from "index")

Once I removed all the "index entries" by means of physically removing the entire content between graphs (graphs included)

the plugin started working again as there was no "indexed area" anymore.

Get the most recent update for Mendeley and install it. You shouldn't lose your citations.

Thanks for your query in this community.

But, per your description on this issue. It's more related with the Mendeley plugin. In this kind of scenario, we would recommend you contact Mendeley support to have a dedicated help on this issue.
