Toggling between Excel workbooks with a keyboard

I am running macOSMojave Version 10.14.4 and Excel Version 16.24 using an Office 365 Subscription.

I would like to cycle through multiple Excel workbooks using a keyboard shortcut on my Mac (the same way I do using ctrl + Tab on my PC). However, I can't seem to figure out a way to do that. If I use Command + ', as I have seen in other suggestions, it only cycles through some of my tabs (not all of them). Using a mouse to go to the Windows drop down and select the right workbook is very slow.

Also, in my Windows drop down menu, I see some workbooks that have nothing next to them, some that have a check mark, and some that have dots. I have no idea what this means or how to change it.

Please help!

    To answer the second question re the file listings in the Window menu;

    1. ✔︎  The file currently is displayed in the foreground
    2. ⚫︎  The file is open in the background & contains changes that haven't been saved
    3. No Mark  The document is open in the background but contains no unsaved changes

    You cannot directly change the symbols yourself [nor is there any reason to] other than by closing/saving files or bringing a different one to the front... the symbols will update automatically as you do.

    Also, just to be clear, the Mac keystroke to toggle between open document windows in the same program is Command+** which is the same action key Neo Wu referred to. I don't mean to be pedantic, but *Command+~* implies use of the Shift key because the ~ is the upper register character on that key. In this case it does make a bit of a difference because **Shift+Command+ toggles through the open document widows in the opposite direction.

    BTW: On a Mac Command+Tab cycles through open applications, including Finder.

    Hi Excel Guy DC,

    Yes, you are right. key combinations are better than manually for us to switch workbook windows.

    Based on my research, we can use Command + ~ key to switch between workbooks on Mac. I test that on my side and I can switch workbook windows by the key combinations:

    Open some workbooks and then use Command +~ key to view them quickly.

    I test this under 16.25 which is the latest version of Office for Mac. Since you are using Office 365 for Business, you can click this link to update your Office to the latest version. Please have a try and share with me your outcome.

    Thanks,

    Neo
