Can the maps feature be used in publications? I can see the GeoNames is under a creative commons license but I want to make sure I am taking the proper measures to cite the source.

Hi TMHV,

Thank you for your patience.

After consulting the related resources, we know the below information.

For print rights, as commercial purposes, your Prints may be used for commercial purposes. Acceptable commercial purposes for Prints include: (i) use in an advertisement or press article about Company products or services; (ii) sending PDF Prints to customers; (iii) printing a browser page with Content to create a flyer or handout; (iv) use within documents or presentations; and (v) sending in an email.

However, we may need to pay attention to some requirements: Prints must include the copyright notices from the Services and Content, including, without limitation, any logo, trademark, copyright or other notice of Microsoft or its suppliers and digital watermarks. You must ensure that the copyright notices are not removed, minimized, blocked, modified or obscured in any Prints. You must include the following copyright attribution statement: "Microsoft product screen shot(s) reprinted with permission from Microsoft Corporation. If your use includes references to a Microsoft product, you must use the full name of the product. When referencing any Microsoft trademarks, you must follow the General Microsoft Trademark Guidelines.

For more details, you can refer to this article: PRINT RIGHTS.

Best Regards,

Sukie
