Hello everyone!

It's my first post on Microsoft Community so sorry for any mistakes I make.

I have a problem with my Office 365 (license bought from microsoft store, personal account). My office apps don't get automatic updates and there is a text shown as in title in settings -> Office Updates. The problem may be tied to my installation of Visio 2019 via microsoft deployment tool (i had a license from my university and could'nt install it the normal way). I already uninstalled Visio and resinstalled Office 365 but it did'nt help. If there are more informations (circumstances, logs, etc), I'll be happy to provide them. Below I attach screenshot of the problem.

Thanks for your help

    Hi Bl00dus,

The deployment tool probably set a registry value to get updates from a specific location.

Check the registry key here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration

You might be able to delete or change some values to enable updates. Check the CDNBase url - it should begin with http://officecdn.microsoft.com/. Check the Updates* values - updatechannel should have an officecdn url and updatesenabled should be True.

You'll likely need to use the fix it to wipe all of office off the computer then reinstall office suite.

This will delete your outlook profiles and imap data files. If you have more than a couple of accounts or use pst files, you can export the profile key from the registry - its at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles

If you use an imap account with 'this computer only' folders for calendar, contacts, task, notes you need to export those folders before doing anything or you will lose them.

    Hello,

I encountered the same issue after installing Visio 2019.

Uninstalling Visio & Quick repair did not help.

I fixed the issue by changing registry value from:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration*OfficeMgmtCOM=TRUE*

    to

    OfficeMgmtCOM=FALSE

Now I can enjoy with the "Update Now" button again :-)

    Cheers!

press start > type regedit > launch regedit

    then navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate

    set officemgmtcom to '0'

    set enableautomaticupdates to '1'

    set hide enabledisableupdates to '0'

And you should see the option to update your office apps

I deleted all keys from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office", used fix it and then installed Office 365 again. Problem fixed. I use Office only for Word, Excel and Powerpoint so no backups were needed.

    Thank you Diane
