MICROSOFT OFFICE PROFESSIONAL PLUS 2019

Hello,

I have tried several times without success to download updates for my licensed MICROSOFT OFFICE PROFESSIONAL PLUS 2019.

Each time I initiate the download, a message indicating that office updates are being downloaded always come up. After some time however another message would come up notifying me that "something went wrong. We're sorry, we ran into a problem while downloading updates for office. Please check your network connection and try again later. Go online for additional help. Error code: 30088-28.

Even when I have good network connection, this message always recurs.  I have upgraded my windows version to 1903. I had thought that updates for other Microsoft products would come along with it.

What do I do? Please help.

    try running this trouble shooting tool:

    SaRA- Fix Outlook and Office 365 problems with Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365 – Error during Install / cannot activate

    https://diagnostics.outlook.com/#/

    This is a Trouble shooting tool specifically for Outlook, with a minor support of Office instal problems

    SaRA runs tests to figure out what's wrong. It can fix many problems for you, or it can tell you how to fix them yourself.

    Trouble setting up Office

    Hi Rohn007,

    I did two things to resolve the issue: I uninstalled and reinstalled my Office applications. Then I changed my source of network connection. Thereafter, the updates downloaded successfully. The issue is fully resolved. Thanks for your efforts.

    That error code identifies some sort of "network connection" error.  Now, it does not mean that you have no network connection at all, just that there is something about your network connection that OFFICE UPDATE does not "like".  But what that something is, I have not been able to find a specific fix for.

    I did find this one generic workaround for that error code

    <snip>

    In my case, the corporate network of my company does not allow to update Office 365, presumably through firewall settings. Using another internet connection works fine. My company has usually special O365 builds, that update through servers inside the corporate network. I simply used the wrong installation image.

    </snip>

    Here is a wiki that has collected fixes for all sorts of generic Windows and Office "network connection" errors. Maybe one of these generic fixes will help with your problem

    **“Network Connection” / “Network Related” fixes collected all in one place**

    This page is a collection of fixes other users have reported that actually worked for them on these specific error codes. Search for your specific error code in this page.
