VBA for Office: 32- or 64-bit?

I have Office Professional 2016 installed.  Does that mean I have the 64-bit version of VBA for Office?  How can I tell if I have the 32-bit or 64-bit version of VBA?

In theory, you simply have to uninstall and re-install.

Starting earlier this year, in the spring, MS finally made 64bit the default.

Uninstalling Office does not affect your personal files. Doing a simple uninstall from the Start menu, Programs and Features or Settings will leave your current configuration information in place, ie Word NORMAL.DOTM.

If you explicitly want to ensure you install 64bit you can download the 64bit "Offline installer".

Use the Office offline installer (MS)

The Offline Installer should allow you to install Office without an internet connection (after the file is downloaded). This page also gives you the option to explicitly select 32 or 64 bit installation.

Thanks!  I just checked and found out I have the 32-bit version of Office which I just installed in June.  You would think that as long as 64-bit Windows has been out, the 64-bit version of Office would be the default.

Do you know what it takes to upgrade to the 64-bit version of Office Profession 2016?  Is it a free upgrade, or would I need to repurchase Office again?  Also, would it leave in place all Office documents I have already created?

VBA bit is the same as the BIT of the Office installation. If you installed it before March this year it is almost certain you have 32 bit.

Go to File menu > Account command > About button.  The About dialog should (in theory) tell you if you have 32 or 64 bit (mine does). But YNK, MS keeps changing things up without warning.
