Remove All Hyperlinks keyboard commands not working; command doesn't seem to exist

Hi:

I'm trying to remove all hyperlinks in a Word for Mac document (2019, v.16.27, 365 subscription). Various websites say to press Command-6, Fn-Command-Shift-F9, and Fn-Control-Shift-F9. None of these work. I tried finding the command in the All Commands list, and it isn't there.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something about this particular version of Word where this command simply doesn't work anymore?

Thanks,

Gregg

    Hi GreggPearlman,

Do you still need help? If you need, you can press Command +A to select all text and then press  command+6 to remove multiple hyperlinks.

More information you can refer to this article. If it doesn’t work, just like CharlesKenyon IA said, it may relate to other reasons. So you can try the suggestion provided by CharlesKenyon IA to open Mac in Safe Mode to check the result. About how to open Mac in Safe Mode you can follow the below steps:

1.Start or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key.

2.Release the Shift key when you see the login window

3.To leave safe mode, restart your Mac without pressing any keys during startup

    Regards,

    Nina

    Hello,

I am an independent advisor, and I am trying to help other users in Community with my experience in Microsoft products.

Selecting All followed by Command 6 or Command Shift F9 does not work on pictures. To remove hyperlinks from a picture using a keyboard shortcut, you'll need to use VBA macros.

Here's more information on what macro to use.

    Hope this helps.

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.

    Hi, Avinash:

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm aware of the workaround needed to remove hyperlinks from pictures, but I'm trying to remove all hyperlinks from text. I've used the above commands on text links, and they don't work. Even Microsoft itself says to use Command-6 on a Mac, though. Your thoughts?

    Best,

    Gregg

    Hi

I do not have a Mac and am writing from my experiences with the Windows version. That version is similar, but the two are not the same. While I've used Word on a Mac, that was a long time ago. Nevertheless, I hope that I can be of some help.

The commands you cite are not simply to remove hiperlinks. They are to unlink or freeze fields. A hyperlink is a field so it should be working.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts for dealing with fields:

    http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/fields.htm...

On many computers the function keys have been hijacked by the BIOS, in which case a Fn key has to be added to the mix.

This link is to a page on my website. It is safe. I am providing it because I think it contains information that will help you. However, as an Independent Advisor I am required to add the following when posting here with a link to any non-Microsoft site, even my own site:
