I can't use the home, end, pgUp, pgDn buttons on my Surface type cover - they only do functions F9, F10, F11, F12

no matter whether I hold down shift, ctrl, win, alt or what ever, only the Functions operate, not end etc.

Hi Lee,

On the Surface type cover keyboard, the F9, F10, F11 and F12 are secondary functions. Please check whether your Fn (Function) key is on - there is a small LED indicator on the key.

If so, you can press it once to turn it off, and then use the Home, End, Page Up and Page Down button and see if it works.

    Depends on your keyboard do you have seperate keys for PgUp/PgDn? or are they a subset of the number set?

    In which case use Fn+PgUp
