HI

i have a document that have 6 pages when opened in Microsoft word 2016 where as when same document opened in Microsoft word 2019 it shows 5 pages.

its quite difficult to figure out either issue is in document or Microsoft word versions behave differently.

Note: Document is Landscape document. Document can be provided if required.

i have read some where that if document is created in Microsoft 2019 then 2019 will render it properly is there any way to figure out on which Microsoft word version document is created ?

Can some one help me out .

Yes it could be printer driver, but since it is happening for both physical printer and PDF printer, I suspect it may be a font substitution issue.

If one of the computers does not have the exact same font used in the document, then Word will "substitute" another font that is on the computer.  If you are lucky, the substitution is close so there are minimal changes. Sometimes the substitution is really bad.

When your document uses fonts that are not available on your computer system, Word substitutes other fonts that it feels are close to what the document calls for. This can cause problems, as outlined in this tip.

Different machines can have different fonts installed on them. Because of this, it is possible for a document that looks fine on one machine to look entirely different on another, if that other machine doesn’t have the same fonts installed. When this occurs, Word substitutes fonts of its choosing for the missing fonts. Here’s how to discover what Word is doing behind the scenes.

More to the point, are all the computers using the same OS; drivers for the same printer will differ from one OS to another.

But are you using one and the same printer with all of the tested computers?

Is the same printer set as the active printer for both versions of Word?

Are both versions of Word on the same computer?
