Hi

I'm looking for the following stats on the sharepoint site:

  • Display a list of users' most popular search keywords
  • View the frequency of specific object searches for each user.

Traffic reports

Trend reports:

  • Site Collection Web Analytics: View site collections based on the total number of page views and unique visitors.
  • Site Web Analytics: Display each site's view and unique visitor counts.

Rank reports:

  • Top Sites: View sites ranked by hits.
  • Top Pages: Display the most popular pages based on page views and unique visitors.

Document Reports:

  • Top documents and artifact hits based on views and unique visitors.
  • The most important thing (not included on the presentation) is that we need to know the methodology of the reports. For example, what is considered a unique view? What is considered a view in general? We have people who save the first page of the intranet site to their desktop. Does it count as a hit every time they open internet explorer?

    Hi AKhan,

From the requirement provided in your original description, we’re sorry it’s not possible to get the reports for a SharePoint site and there are some activities such as File and page activities in Security & Compliance Center (but it displays all the data of the user for every site). You can refer to this article: Search the audit log in Security & Compliance Center for some detail activities.

For audit log reports provided with SharePoint, you can refer to this article: View audit log reports.

But the ideas you stated are great, we suggest you provide them in SharePoint Online UserVoice for taking this to related team. Your feedback is highly appreciated as it helps to improve functionality of product.

Lastly based on my experience, yes it counts for every time they open the page in browser.

    Appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Chitrahaas

It is possible but you have to add a competent analytics app like Google Analytics. Msft's usage reporting is basically useless and often inaccurate. To add analytics scripts to modern sites look into SP Framework extensions.
