To-Do emoji's

Under Customize your lists, here in the To-Do help section, it says... "Just add an emoji to the beginning of your list's name and the emoji will be displayed as the list's icon in the sidebar."  After wasting unknown time... I still can't find any instructions on adding the emoji and I can't find a supply of emoji's either???  Someone please tell me where to go?  Thank you!

That is just a simple click - a left click - and you need to be entering the list name. If the folder/list already exists, left click does nothing (but select the list).

Choose Rename on the right click, then the emojis come up when you click on the list icon..

    Diane

That is exactly what I thought and got nothing about icons. Right clicking gives me a pop up of the following; Rename list, Share list, Pin to Start, Duplicate list and Delete list.  I even tried right clicking on one with an icon, hoping to find a source for change...no different. I've tried everything....??? The program I'm using is the Windows 10 program. I tried the Chrome To-Do add on and got same. Thought maybe the Windows version or the browser version were different...not!  I then had the thought that good old Microsoft doesn't like To-Do and Chrome... so I went to Edge and got same problem.???

    >> Frankly, one has to be an octopus!

I don't think its quite that bad, at least not compared to some other things that require you to be a contortionist. :) But I'm don't have a long lists of lists either.

To add an icon to existing lists you need to right click and choose Rename first, then you can add the icon. The icons are only available when you are editing the name.

Wunderlist still works? I thought they closed it a while back. Use it as long as they let you. (I moved my Wunderlist a year or so ag, when they first said it was going away.)

    Hi Seaboyd,

Click on the icon on the left of the list name to view the available icons.

Diane;  I found what you are talking about by accident! That is not an easy task. Frankly, one has to be an octopus! First, it didn't hit me until your last reply that we were talking about establishing a new list. Then when I tried it by starting a new list, I got a small bar open asking about emoji. However I was never able to click on it. It would disappear before I can click it. I think that reason is because I have lists that go past the screen of my laptop. So I have to create some space to create a new list then hopefully I can click on the pop up menu? One has to click it fast! It shouldn't be that difficult! I looked through almost every word in the Help and found nothing on this subject.

I'm not a rookie in this game. I started using computers in 1977 before Billy & Paul with Commodore 64 and have been through all trials and heartaches of DOS and Windows. It just never fails for Microsoft to have something requiring a crystal ball to find out.

That said, I may just go back to Wunderlist and stay there until I am kicked out? Maybe To-Do will be improved more by then?  I really want to thank you for helping me. Now I know whenever I get the ambition to tackle it again. Thank you.
