How do I modify an EXISTING Multilevel List in Word 2016?

I messed up the numbering format in one of the levels of a list I created.  I can't find any way to modify just that list without defining a new list, which I don't want or need to do.  Is there a way to modify it without defining a new one?

Many thanks in advance.

Click in the first level 1 item of the list that you want to customize. Then click Home > Multilevel List > Define New Multilevel List. As you have noticed, the command is misleading, but it does work.
