Someone sent me a document the font is called Speak Pro.

If I try to change to Times New Roman, Calibri, etc. it reverts to Speak Pro.  What is going on?

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

    Hi JBucciero,

Sorry for the inconvenience this problem caused.

I teste on my device and the result is fine. Here is my test step: someone create a document with Speak Pro font, then send me via Outlook and Microsoft Teams, I downloade it on my device and changed the font, click Save, reopen it and the font is changed.

Because your statement is not so detailed, we suggest general steps first.

    1. You can try to copy the document content to a new created Word file, then change the font to see if it works.
    2. In addition to sending the copy, if possible(your document doesn’t contain any sensitive info), please provide a shared link of the file here so that we can also investigate it for you.

If the problem persists, we need more information so that we can help you. We may need to ask for more details regarding the whole process. If possible please tell more information like below:

    1. How is the document sent to you? Via email? If so did you download the document locally? Did this issue happen after you saving and reopen it?
    2. Your Office version(open Word >File>Account>About Word).

    Regards,

    Jazlyn
