Missing Search Bar on SharePoint Online

Somehow, I am missing the top search bar for our SharePoint Online.  Because we have hundreds of sites, it's vital that I have ability to search.  What can I do to make the search bar show up?

Thanks Oliver.  Yes, you are correct in that my top search bar (one in middle of ribbon) is missing.  I tried other browsers (IE, Edge and Chrome) and none of them seem to work.  I checked with a few others and there are others who are experiencing the same problem.  Thanks so much for the workaround for now -- it REALLY has saved me.  Since we have so many sites, it's very difficult to drill down if I don't have a starting point.  Fingers crossed that a solution is found soon.

    Hi Gwen,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

To confirm, the top search bar you meant is the one below or the one on the middle of the ribbon?

Normally, the search bar could not be disabled by any settings in SharePoint Online unless the webpage is script customized, so it seems like a loading issue which we could not repro yet.

We received a service incident report recently that the search results in SharePoint Online may be incomplete, but this doesn't match the scenario you met.

Please provide us with the information below to narrow down the issue cause first:

    1. Please switch to another browser to see if the same issue would appear.
    2. Please confirm it with your colleagues whether they met the same problem, to check if the whole tenant get affected.

As a workaround, I suggest you try to sign in the site below, which would take you to the search center of SharePoint Online.

    https://***.sharepoint.com/search

(please complete it with the domain name of your organization)

Please feel free to post back with that info, and thanks for your understanding and patience.

    Have a nice day: )

    Best Regards,

    Oliver

    Hello all,

The search bar issue is because of the Targeted release feature being not checked.

Please go to Admin>settings>setting>organisation profile>release preferences and then check 'Targeted release for everyone".

Wait for sometime to reflect the changes and it will be fixed.

Let me know if it worked.

    Regards,

    Shubham Sharma

    Hello Gwen,

Sorry to hear that, it sounds like the whole tenant has got influenced by this issue.

Since we have limited resource to narrow down the issue cause, I have to suggest you let the O365 Admin of your company open a support ticket in Admin Center, to let SPO Support help you solve the problem.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

    Have a good day: )

    Best Regards,

    Oliver
