Azure Migrate Change Target Region

I am using Azure Migrate and have two VM's that are fully replicated and ready to be migrated. I just noticed the target region is not correct. How can I correct this?

Hi

see below:

The region for the project cannot be changed after the first replication is initiated. Please select the region carefully.

You may need to set up the replication again from scratch in the correct region.

So I need to stop the replication and start again? What is the best way to do this?

Hi @rr-4098 ,

to stop the replication of a VM in Azure Migrate right-click on the VM in the list and choose Stop replication.
After the replication stopped you should be able to setup a new replication with the right region.

So I need start the replication from scratch again? What if stopping the replication does not give me the option to select a region?

Hi @rr-4098 ,

you have to select the region when you create a new replication. But before creating a new replication you have to stop the current replication to the wrong region.

I stopped replication on one of the vms over 2 hours ago and it is still stopping. Is this normal.

So after 2,5 hours the job failed stating it could not stop the replication. I am wondering if it timed out after running for so long. I am trying to stop / remove replication again. Has anyone run into this before?

I found I have to Force Stop the replication on my VM. When I got to setup replication again, the target region is grayed out and already set for the region I do not want.

In case others run into this in the future, the only way to correct this is to create a new project and uninstall the software from the migration server and install it again. This is what Microsoft support told me to do.
