When I download a CSV file on my phone, I have to save a copy of the file in order to make edits. When I save a copy of it, it converts to an excel workbook and I can't figure out how to save it as a CSV. Any advice on how to do this? Using an iPhone

I'll take Renzo's word that the iOS and Android versions can't save to CSV.  I also tried to save as CSV from Excel Online. It is not an option.

    .

On the other hand, if you open the file in Google Spreadsheet, there you can save to CSV.

    .

So the process would be to upload the file from your phone to Google drive, open in Google spreadsheet, then SAVE AS to CSV.  From there you can download to your phone or MS OneDrive.

    Dear Chris,

Thanks for participating in the Microsoft Community. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll help you.

Unfortunately, is not possible to save Excel file as .csv format, is a limitation on iOS/Android versions, I suggest you to send your feedback to Excel iOS Uservoice, is the only way to communicate with Product Group, they always see suggestion and ides from user community:

    https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304936-excel...

Also, there are third party apps in the Apple Store to convert Excel files in ".csv" format, but maybe you need to pay for them.

Do not hesitate to ask if you need more information.

I hope it has been useful to you.

    Regards,

    Renzo.
