My document file is corrupted with asian text

Hi,

I am very desperate because I think one of my documents, which is now full of Asian text, is corrupted. I just found this out, and I tried almost every free recovery tool possible, including the Microsoft Word data recovery feature.  But nothing worked. Also, I am prompted to a dialog box titled "Convert File" Is all lost (literally) or is there something else I can do?

Sincerely,

Jay Burch

Indeed, if this is a Word file that has been encrypted with a password, the only way it can be opened is by Word, using the password.

A single screen shot would have sufficed. That's not "Asian text"; that's just flat-out corruption or at least failure to interpret a binary file. Is this a .doc or .docx file? If the latter, it's possible you can recover the text by unzipping the XML file.

It's going to be very tedious to process, but here goes nothing.

    Thank you,

Can you provide a screen shot of the corrupted document? How is it corrupted with "Asian text"?
