Install 365 without syncing with my other computers

My license allows up to 5 installs. I want to install 365 on my wife's computer but do not want it syncing with programs on my two computers (particularly Outlook). Is there an option  on the portal/install page which allows for that? I thought this was called a "local install" but unsure. Thanks

Sounds like you have Office 365 Education.  That does have the 5 install count (installing at home is fine), but it is for your own use, that is why it only supports 1 email account It is not intended to be shared with other people.   365 Education is based on 365 Business.

.

You can tell exactly which license. In any Office application, go to File menu > Account command. Look under the Office logo. A couple of lines down it will show the exact office bundle name.

Hi,

Here is a summary of this case to help others who have similar questions.

Question

================

Is it possible that Office programs installed on two computers with the same Office 365 account are not synchronized.

Answer

================

Office 365 Education has the 5 install count. But it is for the owner use, and it only supports 1 email account. It is not intended to be shared with other people.

Best regards,

    OK, I get it. Right now, my office and home office computers work seamlessly together with 365 and just wanted to ensure that Outlook, One-Drive etc. would be distinctively mine or hers. Thanks for dispelling my ignorance.

    Do you have Office 365 for Business, or one of the Consumer versions like Home or Personal.

    Yes, all 365 subscriptions allow you to install on up to 5 computers at the same time. BUT those installations are associated with your personal email account.

    If you are using an Office 365 Business subscription to install on your wife's computer you are misusing the intent of the subscription. It is intended for YOU, your email ID, to use on those multiple computers.

    Office 365 Home allows you, the subscriber to "Share" with up to 5 other people at no additional cost. You email them an invitation to share, they sign in with their personal emails and install on their computers.  Each person has separate email accounts, is allowed to install on up to 5 computers, has separate 1TB OneDrive allocations and separate 60 minutes of Skype time.

    You completly missunderstand the concept, 365 installed on family computers will be unique data wise to the user of that PC (assuming each user has there own email account) and OneDrive for each user will be unique to that user

    PS what is it in your mail that you wish to keep hidden from your wife, your girlfriend? :(

    Even if there are multiple win users on the one PC all data will be unique to that user
