The OneDrive Icon in the system tray is greyed out but OneDrive is working OK

The OneDrive icon in the system tray is not visible. It is there but appears to be grey.

If I hover the cursor over the system tray it shows 'OneDrive Up To Date'.

I have checked personalization and OneDrive is set to display in notification area.

I have removed and reinstalled the latest version of OneDrive and yet the icon remains grey.

The application is working as it should and synchronising - I just cannot see the icon.

If I click in the area where the icon should be it opens the OneDrive pop up.

I don't know what else to try.

Edit:- I have just tried uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive several times and noticed that the icon appears greyed out and hard to see in system tray when installed. OneDrive appears to be working as it should and all other icons are operational and visible.

Blue icon is onedrive for business.

    White/Grey icon is onedrive personal.

Finally a definitive answer.  Why does not MS mention it anywhere?

I don't know whether you still find this an issue, but sometimes OneDrive uses a greyed out icon as a personal OneDrive and a blue for business.

Can confirm, I have onedrive personal with windows10, and onedrive "business" with my .edu email address.  Both running fine on one PC, the personal icon is grey and the business icon is blue.  I don't pay for either but the student version that you can access for free with a .edu address is just the business version.

So you get the fancy blue icon if you pay for it, but I have paid for windows10, and my student fees?

I can understand the logic but the UX designer in me still can't get his head around why they would do that.  Maybe a different color for the student version would be a good compromise but then they would just be degrading their branding.  Having a grey icon for the free version seems to do the same IMO, you're either going to confuse people, or give them the impression that you think they aren't as valued as your higher paying customers.  Both of which they have succeeded to achieve with me.

I have just spent a decent amount of time researching a visual design flaw, thinking it's a bug.  Now every time I look at my taskbar for the next few days I'll be imagining Bill Gates calling me a peasant, taunting me with his billions like Scrooge McDuck diving into his pool of golden coins.
