Has the latest update to Powerpoint removed the ability to drag and drop an image into an image placeholder and it automatically constrain to that  space?

    Hi Ben,

I did a test on my side with the latest version of Office for Mac, but I cannot reproduce the same scenario.

After opening PowerPoint for Mac, click on View > Slide Master > Insert Placeholder > Picture.

The Picture Placeholder is inserted to the slide as below.

Then I dragged and dropped an image to that placeholder correctly.

To troubleshoot this issue, there’re some suggestions you can have a try:

    1. Start your Mac in Safe Mode and open Word from there to isolate issues, then check if the issue persists. Because when starting your operating system by using a normal startup, several applications and services start automatically and then run in the background. These programs include basic system processes, antivirus software, system utilities, and other software. These applications and services can sometimes cause interference when you run Office for Mac. You can refer to this article for more details.
    2. The problem may also be related to the settings after you installed Office for Mac, so you can try to remove these files below.
    1. Close PowerPoint, open Finder.
    2. Press Command + Shift + G, input “~/Library/Containers”, remove

    com.microsoft.PowerPointcom.microsoft.office.plistto desktop.

    1. Open PowerPoint, and check if it can sync documents properly.

To narrow down the scenario, we’d like to collect some information:

    1. Which version of Office for Mac and macOS do you have?

office version: Click PowerPoint > About Microsoft PowerPoint on the menu

macOS version: Click Apple icon > About this Mac in the menu.

    1. Does this issue also occur on other presentations? Or just occur on the certain presentation?

    Best regards,

    Madoc
