Page Number Current Position Option Missing

Hi there,

In my Microsoft Word program, every time I try to insert a page number in my Header, the option to insert it at the "Current Position" is missing.

My Word program on my work computer (PC) has this option, but the program on my personal laptop (which I was able to download through the same license my work computer has), does not have the option.

Using the option I do have on my Mac, it makes the Header text overlay the page number. "Format Page Numbers" does not give me the option to insert it in a current position either.

Program on personal laptop: Word for Mac

License: Office 365 Subscription

Thank you in advance!

Not all versions of Word have the same commands, or commands in the same place. You can insert a page number where your insertion point is by choosing Insert>Field>Numbering>Page.

I believe the Page # is current postition. If it replaces the header, I am mistaken.

Page numbers are the Page field.

On the Windows version, you can  insert one with Alt+Shift+P.

On the Mac, try Ctrl+Shift+P.
