Hello,

I have an autotext that i want to name /cb

can i assign a shortcut to it so i just type /cb and it will appear?  I know if i made it /cjb then i could type /cjb and press enter and it would appear but is there a shortcut when there's less than 4 characters?

thank you!

What you describe would be AutoCorrect rather than AutoText. See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/AutoCorrect.htm

Alternatively, if you want to use a name for your AutoText entry that is less than four characters, you can do so; just type the name and press F3 to insert.

    Hi CraigBrody,

Thanks for your patience. Regarding to your issue, there is  a need to assign a shortcut to an AutoText and when typing it will appear. If so, I notice you’ve also post a similar issue in this thread which also relates to AutoText, you may refer to Charles Kenyon’s suggestion that inserts AutoText  and also modify automatically on all computers.

Moreover, for the shortcut which is less than 4 characters as you required, I have searched and sorry for the inconvenience caused by you, there is no out-of-box way to achieve this, so we sincerely recommend you submit your feedback to Word UserVoicethat your feedback is so important which will improve our product experience and also increase the related team aware this feature. In addition, I will continuing searching and posting back if I find any beneficial solution for you. Hope you can understand and give us much time for testing and searching.

If I misunderstand what you mean, please correct me and I would like to figure out.

Thanks again for your understanding and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Gloria
