Hello!
I'm stumped with a Word problem. A user wants to add/remove the checks and check boxes in a document.
The check marks/boxes do not appear to be part of a bulleted list, nor do they seem to be inserted as "symbols", or at least not in the foreground of the document. They seem to be "behind" the text. I also considered that they may be tables, but I can't seem to be able to find a place in which to edit them.
What are your thoughts? What could it be? I'll insert a picture of the line in question. I would attach the document but I don't see the option to do that. Thanks!

These are not checkboxes but rather shapes. See screenshot.
They can be deleted if you can select them. You may need to activate the Selection Pane (right end of Home Tab) to select them.

This appears to be a checkbox Content Control. It may have been set to not be deleted. This is in properties under the Developer Tab.
If you want, save a sample document with the problem on OneDrive or Dropbox and paste a link here. Remove any confidential or sensitive information first. I or someone else can take a look at it.

If you want people to be able to check these in Word, I recommend using the Checkbox Content Control on the Developer Tab or a DropDown with Yes and No as the only Choices.
