Hello!

How can I import data into excel sheet, from a file automatically, when new folder (that contains the file) got saved.

In different words:

The folder structure will be like this:

Main folder

                   Sub_Folder_1

                   Sub_Folder_2

                   Sub_Folder_3

                                        File_1

                                        File_2

                                        .

                                        .

                                        .

                   .

                   .

                   .

                   Sub_Folder_x

I am able to import the data: Data -> New Query -> From file -> file CSV which is for example File_1, and the file name will be the same in all Sub_Folders

But how can I make excel import data from e.g: File_1, once I save a new Sub_folder under the main folder?

    Hi

You were on the right track but it's not Data -> New Query -> From File -> only but...

Data -> New Query -> From File -> From Folder

Then in the following dialog box Browse to your MainFolder only:

Assume my Main_Folder currently has 2 sub-folders (SubFolder1 & SubFolder2) each having 3 files, as next step I'll see the following:

    I build my query… Then add SubFolder3 under Main_Folder

Next time I refresh all following files will be seen by my query, inc. those in SubFolder3:

Hope this helps & if this solves your problem please Mark as answer so this can help others with the same question. Thanks

    Hi

When we have no news we usually know what this means, checking though: did the above proposal help solve your problem or you haven't had an opportunity to test it yet?

Your update will be appreciated - Thanks
