Office 365 "Display Settings" optimize Message and popup?

Today I noticed a new message in my Excel (and Word) 365 status bar. When I clicked on it I got this dialog:

First of all, COOL!

.

Has anyone seen documentation for this new feature? I assume this is limited to 365 (unfortunately).

.

I didn't try it, since I am currently satisfied with the display. What I would really like to know is how to find this NEW option in the application user interface when the message is not displayed in the status bar.

A web search turned up this thread from July 2018, so it isn't a new feature. I've never seen that popup, but then my monitors aren't HD -- their max resolution is 1600 x 900.

I doubt there's any control in the UI; it's probably triggered when the software senses HD display hardware and some condition in the Office software.

OK, that makes a little sense.  Although I currently don't have a HD monitor attached, I did look at the Windows HD settings dialog. Although I didn't turn on any HD settings, it appears that Office recognized I was there and added the button to the status bar.

Golly-gee, I really HATE the "hide-and-seek" Ribbon gooey. You know, where unused "contextual" commands/tabs are completely hidden until the associated feature is clicked on, i.e. Tables tabs.

Your reply definitely looks like an answer.  But I'm going hold off marking it to see if anyone else has other ideas.
