Excel 2019 - Stocks Feature

I've just downloaded Excel 2019 so that I can track my stock portfolio, but seem to be missing features available in Office 365 online.

I can add companies and excel seems to recognize them as stocks (as shown below), but the stocks icon is missing and the 'Insert Data' function is not available.

In contrast, when I am using Office 365 in my OneDrive, all the features are enabled, as seen below:

Is there some feature missing in my Excel 2019 or do I need to enable something? The entire reason that I upgraded from Office 2016 to 2019 was for the live stock data feature, so it would be incredibly unfortunate if this wasn't fully available.

Thanks for your time.

Dan

Sorry to tell you this, but "Stock" data type is one of the features limited to Office 365. It is NOT part of Office 2019.

When MS created the Office 365 "subscription" type of license, MS decided to "encourage" people to switch to this new cash cow by limiting "new features" to the 365 offering and not adding them to the one-time payment licenses like Office 2019.

Go to this website and try to upvote this complaint and maybe they might add it to the desktop version.  It was previously states though they are tryknf to encourage their 365 program.

Wow - ok. That is really unfortunate. Had I known I would have not paid for 2019 and just installed Office 365. Thanks for the info.

    Cheers

    Hello Daniel

I am V. Arya, Independent Advisor, to work with you on this issue. Can you open Excel - File - Account and let me know whether this is Excel 2019 or Excel 365?
