The Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard does not appear in the drop down menu under the Start Mail Merge icon. How do I add it to the menu?

The "Wizard" is a thing of the past :-) All of the steps are on the Mailings tab of the Ribbon starting from left to right. See Word Help for specific instructions but don't hesitate to ask here is you need more help on a particular topic.

The notification indicates that Word needs to have Excel open the file in the background. Excel does not launch nor will you see the content of the Excel workbook file, itself. All you are presented with is the small Open Workbook dialog in order to specify the sheet or range containing the records. If you want to view or edit the data you have to actually launch Excel & open the workbook file.

I am still able to mail merge because I am not able to view my my list because this message keeps showing on my screen. I have clicked on Yes and No but have had no luck viewing a list.

"This file needs to be opened by the Excel Workbook text converter, which may pose a security risk if the file you are opening is a malicious file.  Choose Yes to open this file only if you are sure it is from a trusted source."

    Hi Peggy,

As like MVP mention above the Word 2016 for mac does not have the “step by step mail merge wizard” option. We suggest you vote this UserVoice because this is the best way to make our products and services better for you and others.

To do mail merge in Word 2016 for Mac, you can refer to Use mail merge to create a form email message in Word 2016 for Mac.

Additionally, I found thread you may refer this and hope it help for you.

Your understanding and time will be highly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Waqas Muhammad
