Thank you for the feedback. Makes sense what you are saying. A professor was requiring that type of version. I had reached out and he missed clicking a button in our online format.

I appreciate the help.

The the old format, narrations are linked, not embedded. So PowerPoint tosses them out when downsaving. It may be possible to extract the narrations, convert them to a PPT-compatible format, then re-link them to the presentation. Please let me know if you would like the steps to try that.

PPT is an obsolete format, why are you trying to save to it?

    Hi CharleneParham,

Per your description, you lose the audio voice when covert pptx to ppt, I have test it on PowerPoint 16.35 for Mac Catalina, I open a pptx file and save as ppt, while the audio voice won’t lose.( If my steps are different from yours, please point out.)

To narrow down it, I will suggest you update your Office to the latest version and see the if new updates can fix your issue.

For your reference: Update Office for Mac automatically

And also try to launch your Mac with safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.

    1. Your PowerPoint version. Please open PowerPoint> click ”About PowerPoint” and share the screenshot with us.
    2. Whether all presentations or a specific one has such issue? You can create a new one and check the outcome.
    3. How you concert pptx to ppt? Please tell us your steps to help us further test.
    4. Did you get any error message? If so, please send the screenshot of it.

    Best regards,

    Gloria
