Jazlyn, it's called a Slide Layout, not a "slide sub-master". Setting the background on a layout will affect all slides based on that layout, not just one slide. The O.P. should only use the custom layout for one slide, if that's all they need.

    Hello John amd Jazlyn,

The solition to design teplate at an individual level worked like a charm.

More over, i saved each template in illustrator to PDF rather than EPS as to maintain the RGB color quality.

    Thank you both bery much,

    Scott Dali

Jazlyn's screenshots are misleading. She shows how to format the background of the master slide. Doing that will add the picture to every slide in your presentation. Instead, create a custom layout so the picture can appear on just one slide.

The simplest solution is to create a custom layout in Slide Master view. Place the image in the background of that layout and it will not be selectable or moveable on the slide created from it.

    Hi ScottDali,

Based on your description, you want to lock image of the PowerPoint presentation.

However, there is no out of box way to meet this requirement now, other members have already submit requirement for this feature in this UserVoiceand many members have voted it. You can also vote it, the higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. Many good ideas have been taken in this way. Your voice is also important to us.

A workaround is to use a slide master and put the "locked" content on the master.  Users won't be able to select it/move it while editing slides based on that master. You can go View > Master> Slide Master > select and right-click the slide master > Format Background.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn
