Hi,

So when I use Excel Version 1902 (Build 11328.20492) I cannot use XLOOKUP, however when I open Office 365 in Chrome, XLOOKUP is available.

Why is this? I have checked for Office Updates through File -> Account -> Office Updates to no avail.

Please help,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your message in this forum.

According to your description, it seems that you cannot use XLOOKUP feature in Excel client.

If so, we have tested it on our side and we cannot reproduce the same situation as yours. Given this situation, we’d give you some suggestions below and hope that will help you.

1.       You mentioned “I have checked for Office Updates through File -> Account -> Office Updates to no avail”, does it mean that you have updated your Excel but it didn’t work? If so, please refer to this article: Update history for Office 365 ProPlus (listed by date) to check if you have the latest version of Excel, if not, you can update your Excel to the latest version to check if the same problem will occur.

2.       Hold Ctrl key to launch Excel in safe mode, this can narrow down whether there’s any third-party add-ins affecting that. If the issue disappears in the safe mode, you may need to manually disable all add-ins then add them 1 by 1 to narrow down which is the one affecting that.

3.       If the suggestions above don’t work, you can refer to this article: Repair an Office application to repair your Office.

If the problem still persists after trying suggestions above, could you provide the information below?

1.       Could you provide the Product Information and Version of your Excel? You can go to Excel > File > Account and provide the full screenshot of Product Information.

2.       May I know if all files have the same problem? You can create a new file to check if the same problem will occur.

3.       May I know if you encountered any error message? If so, could you provide the screenshot of it?

Best Regards,

Sukie

To use XLOOKUP and XMATCH in the Excel application (as opposed to via the browser version), you must be using Office 365 and be on the Monthly Update channel, see my screen capture below. When you go to Account, what does yours say? If it says Semi-Annual Channel, you will not get it until after July 1st, as that is when they will start rolling it out to that channel.

    Hi,

I have the same issue, I've recently migrated to a new laptop and installed the latest updates so now on:

Version 2004, build 12730.20236 but I can't use XLOOKUP on my desktop but it is available online.

It is on the monthly channel.

I've now got a lot of 'broken' spreadsheets that won't work, please can you suggest steps for me to get XLOOKUP onto my laptop?

    Regards

    Tim

The only thing I can think of is that you are not using Office 365 (except I assume this "channel" stuff is only related to Office 365?)? Your version number is different from mine. As I understand it has been available to the monthly channel since about January, at least.

Does your "account information" look like this?

I did avail suggested Repair Option but all in vain. I still cant avail new Functions like XVLOOK and Unique etc.

    Please help,
